Hosting and connection data

This website is hosted by Fly.io, Inc., a US provider. The application runs in Frankfurt, Germany. Fly.io’s global network handles incoming connections and terminates HTTPS at an edge location; selecting Frankfurt does not restrict all processing to Germany or the EU.

When you visit a page or fetch the RSS feed, your IP address and technical request data must be processed to deliver the response. This includes the requested address, connection time and HTTP headers supplied by your browser. The purpose is to provide the website reliably and protect it against misuse. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: the legitimate interest in operating a secure, accessible website.

The application has no visitor database and routine HTTP access logging is disabled. Fly.io may retain operational and error logs, including requested paths on proxy errors. Fly.io states that application logs remain searchable for seven days and inbound visitor IP addresses are not retained in its log store. No additional log export or analytics service is configured.

Fly.io is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Its infrastructure, operations and subprocessors can involve processing outside the EU. See its data protection information, privacy statement and subprocessor list for details.

Cookies, tracking and local assets

This website does not set cookies, use analytics or advertising trackers, or store visitor profiles. Fonts, styles and scripts are served from this website rather than loaded from third-party font or script services. No account or registration is required.

Search and RSS

Article search is processed by this website’s server. Search terms appear in the page URL and may remain in your browser history. Avoid entering private or sensitive information into search. RSS requests use the same hosting infrastructure as other pages and do not require an account.

Email and external links

If you email me, I process your email address and message to respond to your request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Article 6(1)(b) where the correspondence concerns a contract. Correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle the request and any applicable legal retention duties.

External links open websites operated by others. Their own privacy policies apply when you follow those links.

Your rights

Subject to the conditions in the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability (Articles 15–20). You can object to processing based on legitimate interests under Article 21. Contact the email address above to exercise these rights.

You may complain to a data protection supervisory authority, including the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA).
